Just some snaps from a recent walk with Peg (the Wonder-Rotty!). They may seem odd  because they're supposed to be "artistic". ;D
Looks like somebody's eager to go out...

One of the many old churches of Newark. Bunch of new houses just went up in 2 lots here last summer...

House-shopping, perhaps? Never seen a limo parked around here before...

Wait- yes, I hear a big airplane...  zoom...steady... et voila! Bonjour!

Good to know my juice is being stepped down practically next door; I know right where to look if there's a problem. ;D

No- it's very quiet. And if it wasn't, it'd be drowned out by all the other noise.

So I guess you don't live in the bad part of Newark, where you can't even take out your camera and take some shots without being mugged? :P

Well, I wouldn't call it a nice neighborhood... but more "quality-of-life" issues than threats to one's life. I was mugged once nearby, years ago, but that was sort of a fluke. The most common crime around here is crackheads breaking into cars. They don't mug people because that would require a weapon, and a crackhead won't keep anything he can sell for crack money. ;D
And now that the Ironbound (the tight-knit and fairly quiet Portuguese neighborhood) is starting to spill over from east of the RR tracks, it's getting a little better.
The area west of Broad Street is a little more dangerous, but even that area is seeing some revival: new homes and businesses, etc.

Yeah. One of my friends used to live in Newark and said for a few streets, don't even go down them because if you're not buying crack, you'll be shot.
