Another visit to EBOS

Postby Omag 2.0 » Wed Jan 18, 2006 2:02 pm

Back at my newly installed watertreatment-plant for a check-up... I couldn't resist... I took my camera... ;D

Not a lot of action in the sky today, but these were on the apron.

Aaah... My precious... MK airlines 747

2 Amazing retro-beauties side by side... Douglas DC-8-62

And my first real life Antonov!  ;D Air Sofia -  Elf-sticker and Dakar-rally logo... must have done some logistics work. I love that glass nose...

This was the first time I shot planes and used the manual settings of my camera, so please, be gentle...  ;D

Now I also believe this kind of grey weather isn't exactly the best to shoot great pictures...

Cheers,

Omag

Well, Ostend is the exception on the rule... many old birds come here regulary... Antonovs, DC-8's, DC-10's, Ilyushins, etc...  Until not so long ago it wasn't that uncommon that tiles where blown away from roofs when another loisy Russian passed by on route to the airport...

Before the weapons smuggling crackdown it was even better...

In the past Ostend was almost on the same level as Sharjah, but after a major cleanup action by the government most airlines either went bust or moved elsewhere.

Still some pretty rare birds around EBOS... It may be smelly, but I like those not so regular planes!  ;D
