My first outing using my own DSLR - July 2003...

Postby F3Hadlow » Sat Jan 14, 2006 5:25 pm

Hope you guys don't mind me doing another photo post :)

Just thinking back to the first time I ever used my own DSLR. This was at the RAF Boulmer 50th Anniversary/families day. The weather sadly degraded before the main displays but it was still great fun. Could probably take better shots now with two years experience but I still like some of them :)...

Nice one of the Hawk with just the one wing tip trail. I was pulling a bit of G yesterday in a descending turn and noticed my tip trails for the first time in the mirrors - it was hard to concentrate on the flying as I kept on wanting to look at them! ;D

Thanks everyone :), it was a great spot I found that day ;D

Nice one Charlie! I've only seen a Tucano with proper trails once, the pilot held it low right until the end of the runway (at Linton) and then pulled it back really hard into a steep climb, made for an awesome photo! ;D

ever thought of a carreer in photography?

If I had the chance I'd take it but the chances are few and far between sadly (for aviation photography).

The F3 is very nice. Sharp despite the weather. The first Nimrod is perfectly framed and the Reds are nice as always. Could have been a little sharper though, but still, it's very well done. Or you have the jets or you have lots of smoke in your photo. This one has both!  8)

Hey, Steve

My wife is an amateur photog. She got the Nikon D50 not too long ago. She just bought a Nikkor 24-140/VR lens for it and got it in the mail today. She wants to know what Cam you were using to get those amazing shots with?

I'm afraid I'm a Canon man myself, Canon EOS10d ;D

Thanks also Mr Bones, I agree with you about the sharpness of the Reds shot, if only the weather had helped a little.
