Pattern work at 47N- part 1

Postby beaky » Sun Jan 08, 2006 11:20 pm

Went flying today... had to delay my flight, but it all worked out well, as I'll explain shortly...just went around the pattern for about 1.5 hrs; about 7 landings; mostly good short ones. Still tending to fly it on, but that's better than bouncing (which would require true ineptitude in a 152). and I'm off the brakes now; just getting re-acquainted with the more cramped arrangement.
My mount today: N25057, a 1978 C152 affectionately known as "Casper". No, that's not me; that's the guy who had it after me.

A bad picture of "Casper"s panel; typical rental, but she's OK. Nothing fancy, that's for sure. Makes some odd noises in flight that I hadn't noticed on last week's checkout, but she seemed strong enough .

Another bad pic (most of my few inflight pics did not come out well- shot "blind" through old plexi), this time the view on downwind for 25. a little too close at the moment- the NW crosswind was waffling, fooling me on every leg.

This led to at least one late turn to final, but no worries- I got this sorted out quickly.

Next: bumming around the airport; meeting with MarcoAviator, AN124 update!
