I decided to tidy up the cables, etc. around the ol' PC today... probably a good idea, don't you agree?

Once I'd freed up the tower, i figured I'd also clean out the computer. took the sides off and- GREAT DAY IN THE MORNING!!! MICE!!!! They'd gotten in thru one of the two uncovered PCI slots... I really shouldn't have left those open...
My hard drives- my beautiful hard drives!!! Nnoooooo.... they crapped and peed on them... and God knows what else!!! Ew!! Eww!!!
Of course I had to inspect all cables... why you little...!!!
Not too bad, but amazing there were no shorts. If I'd caught one of the little buggers in here, I'd have pinched his little head until it popped. I have no problem with mice, and can even forgive them getting into the provisions if they're left out... but mess with my computer and you've got a war on your hands...
Adding insult to injury, a dead centipede... has it really been that long since I cleaned my rig?
So now I'm in a cleaning frenzy...scrubbing, disassembling...gosh, do you think my graphics card might work better without the giant dust bunnies crammed in around the fan? I feel so ashamed...
Good opportunity to properly dress everything; and a little tape on the frayed power cables... Yes, I tried a round floppy cable, but it didn't work for some reason, so I'm stuck with the ribbon. I'd ditch the floppy drive altogether, but I occasionally use it for work-related stuff. After about 2 hours, to paraphrase the little lady from Poltergeist:
"This rig is clean..."
And secure: Maz had a coupla PCI slot covers; the little monsters won't be getting in there again, unless they want to try gnawing through the plastic front cover.
Finally I get to the task I'd intended: cable management. Looks much better now!!
