Chile II

El Tabo's a nice, dusty little town, but it's got its fair share of newness.  Only enough though. ;)

Just thought this random dog was the cutest (for lack of a better word) thing I'd seen in awhile. ;D

I finally got to Cordoba's Fault.  'Tis a huge, well... fault!  Unfortunately, I thought I lost my second memory card so I had to ration my photos.  In all reality, and much to my relief, I had just left the danged thing in Santiago.  Here's one of the nicer shots.
Image

At one point in the trail (there's actually three) the only way to continue is a pipe which somebody had conveniently outfitted with a wooden handrail.  Pipe's past this point are not so luxuriously adorned.

Unbeknownst to me, I had no idea photo rationing was not in my best interest.  The first trail sticks to the riverbank, however this ends quite abruptly, and to continue you'll have to double back and take the second path.  However, I had only known of two paths and I thought this path I was taking was actually the third.  It was becoming increasingly difficult to continue though, and I didn't remember it being so difficult.  I tried my luck and climbed up a rocky part, and as I had predicted, there was indeed a third path.  This path was nice and open and scenic, but I was rationing photos!  Past "The pipe" point, the path seems rarely trodden and is nigh impossible in some places to continue.  I even had to be rock climber for a second or two!  As such I worried more about keeping thorns out of my eyes and not losing my camera.  So eventually the path banks so much that continuing mean risking dissapearing forever.  Then I had to go back right into everything I had just fought through.  Needless to say I was exactly in the mood to snap shots. ::) ;) I did meet this grumpy little hiker though.

Updates to follow at a later date!  ;)

Sweet.... Thrilling! I hope you didn't get bit by that "little" spider, cause it's putting up a threatning posture!  :o

I'm still very glad to see some shots from that part of the world... so by all means, more Scorpion! MORE! ...  ;D

Nicely done Scorp. :D

I'm surprised you don't carry a spare set of batteries & make sure you have plenty of memory. You're not the first person I've seen using that as an excuse by any means. ::) The beauty of digital cameras is that you're no longer worried about conserving film & can take more photos than you will ever need. Must try harder if you want to be our official roving reporter. :P ;)

Proper advise. However, in light of many of the past posts by the adviser mentioning memory, I couldn't help but find this amusing. ;D

My dear old Mum could often be heard to remark that I would lose my head if it wasn't screwed on properly. :D

This has not improved over the years & while well on the way to recent air display I realised to my horror that I'd forgotten the all-important bag containing the spare memory cards for my camera. There was nothing for it but to turn round & go back for it as this bag also contained my wallet, credit card & all my money, not to mention various other important items that I always carry about my person. ::) ;D

I've heard of losing one's memory but still find the thought of forgetting one's memory highly amusing. Unfortunately that's the state I now find myself in & it can only get worse. :'( ;)

Scorp actually likes that sort of thing. It takes all sorts. Wouldn't surprise me if he went looking for it. ;)
