They keep on comin' at KEWR

Was sitting in the living room a coupla Saturdays ago (watching "Hell's Angels") and noticed the sky was looking good for some arriving-airliner shots. Took a chance shooting through the thick funky windows, and managed to get a few decent snaps...including some sights I have yet to capture:

This is rare: one of the big boys using Rwy 29. Wind was southerly but light, so I guess they opted for a bit of a crosswind for schedule's sake.

At last- some pictures of a Lufthansa 747.  Love those Seven-Fours!

Wouldn't be a "KEWR Arrivals" post w/o a picture of a FedEx DC-10... ;D

Never seen a Star Alliance bird arriving here before...

Just happened to look up from the movie as the sun was setting in time to catch an arriving Air India 747... almost missed it.

Difficult to tell from that angle. It looks like a DC10-10 from the size of it, and I cant see if its center wheels are down or if it even has that one. if it is a 30 then yes its a good chance of being an MD10 conversion, if its the DC10-10 then no its not.

The star alliance is LOT Polish, thus LOT on the plane

There's a bad joke in there somewhere, but as I discovered just a few years ago that my paternal grandfather was actually Polish, not Irish, I'll have to leave that to someone else.

There are a few gulls circling near my building right now...

Pft. In my little jaunt to Newark, I saw a Lufthansa Star Alliance and I think maybe even that 767.

99% sure it's a DC 10.

Aren't you lucky for such shots from your window, anything we get from here are the departures from KSMF usually at 10,000 feet by the time they're over us.

You are lucky to be so close to an aproach path! I live in suburbia, but of course KDEN is way out in the middle of nowhere!

Good shots! :o 8)

Exactly. My roommates often are puzzled when I jump up to stand by the window... ;D
One of the coolest things is watching the string of lights arriving from the south thru the kitchen window as I wash dishes... one of these days I'll get a decent shot of that.
