Had two E3 Sentry aircraft performing missed approaches at Newcastle Int. Airport today. A pleasent surprise was that one of them was the special 90th Anniversary tail scheme from 8/23 squadron. Heres a pic I took, the quality isn't superb but the approach is 4 miles away from here and I'm facing into the sun so can be excused

I know you did! I was following one of them! I don't know if you'd have seen me in the overhead at 9000ft! Unfortunately they were too busy for us to shoot an approach...

Saw a pair of these overhead at the same time as well, you weren't in one of these were you?

I did see a Tucano coming in to the approach at one point whilst the Sentrys were about, could that have been you?

We decended into low level to the west from the overhead...

In that case I probably did see you. I do have a photo of the Tucano I saw but it's a terrible quality shot (Tucanos aren't too big four miles away

).

Well that may well be me if you were shooting into sun (ie South!)

(Now confirmed as the first official sighting due to time and location checks etc
