USAF over EGNT

Not the best quality of shot but I thought you guys might be interested to see what I caught (purely by chance) flying over the airspace over EGNT. :)

Wow, nice! It's a shame you need a camera to sometimes identify aircraft that are flying so high, but when you catch things like this, it's worth having one with you!

I use a Canon EOS10d. That shot was taken with a Canon 300m F4 L IS plus two 1.4x converters attached which basically make it a 840mm f6.7 (not taking digital conversion into account) . The shot has been cropped a bit but nothing too extreme.

Very nice! Love that composition!

840mm f6.7 (not taking digital conversion into account)

Sensor crop would make it 1,344mm then... Very nice.

Now get a 600mm lens, like a 600mm f4 L IS USM, to go with that setup and you could have 2,688mm at f8 ;D You could count the rivets with that but you'd need around $7,200 USD for that (I'm not sure what a 600mm L will cost in the UK).

You gotta love super telephoto lenses eh F3Hadlow?

That's right, I'm now using an AMD! I decided to give them another try and they

You certainly have :) I have only been using one for a month or so but already I can see why they are the best. Glad you liked the shot as much as I enjoyed taking it ;D

A lot! lol :P
