....but somehow ended up here  8)

First off I want to say that all of these pictures were taken with the 0.7 megapixel camera on my Motorola V300 cellphone, as I forgot my camera in my hotel room :(

Now the background of this trip is that I was to attend the 2005 Potomac Ball and presentation of debutants, where I had the pleasure of escorting a georgeous young lady by the name of Ashley Smith. However I had some time to kill on saturday, so I felt like going for a strool down the national mall. And when I saw the Air and Space museam I couldnt help but go in.

The good 'ol DC-3

Here she is again, but a full body shot.

This is a wall of every aircraft used in WWII by every service. Kinda cool really.

The Esta 300S bringin back the FS95 days

Not the virgin global flyer, but same airframe.

Well I plan to post pictures of the ball once I get them back from the photographer.

Cheers

Excellent idea to stop in at the Air and Space Museum.....I would have done the same thing.....thanks for doing the best under tough circumstances with only a cel phone camera........... 8)

I think your "Carol Vincent" may be the Carl Vinson ?

? Next ?.....the Skyhawk and Hellcat ?....by the looks of the wing fillet and dive brake flap, I would rather guess at a Douglas Dauntless..........

The "Esta" 300S may be just a spelling error....that would be one of Walter "EXTRA's" designs, the 300S indeed ......... 8)

Not picking, but it would be a shame for those who don't know, to learn some aircraft by an incorrect name..... 8)

Also, That is Voyager, not Global Flyer. It has almost nothing to do with Global Flyer. Voyager was designed by Burt Rutan and flown around the world non-stop by Dick Rutan and Jeana Yeager in 1987. The trip took 9 days. Otherwise, very interesting pics. I'll have to get back to the smithsonian one of these days.

Cell phone cameras work better outside.  I got some fairly good pics out of mine at WOH airshow
