OK,....here's more......

So while Wendy and I said we would go for a walk, we knew it would be foggy, but not enough to stop us from enjoying the mild temps......although the damp air did shorten the walk a bit once we got away from the buildings and aircraft............here is the far side of the airfield, looking towards the river which runs to the ocean.......
Image

.....and the view which Wendy has from her vantage point, back across the runway, towards the hangars.......
Image

.......and this is what that little homebuilt on floats, looks like...........I think its a an old Chris Heintz design......
Image

Now, on the other side of those hangars, you can see a few of the many other floatplanes which call this little airpark "home"..........
What do you suppose Wendy is getting in position to take a pic of ?
Image

It may be C-GWAR in the background, but then, maybe not ...........
Image

Just how big is this bird, ?

Yeah, we've been socked-in for about a week now.....still.........I am happy to shoot these shots for those who rarely get to see any float planes.....when I get a special one for our small location, its a treat I get to share with you all........I don't regularily see Otters with a radial, so its special for me too........

Pix of a fog-shrouded airport should probably be depressing, but these aren't... they're beautiful.

Very moody stuff. I love that Otter. We don't get many floatplanes around here. Except for that Canso on the display circuit we don't get anything resembling a  floatplane around here.

Beautiful photo's, Ken...!

It's not very often that I get the thrill of getting that close to a radial engine... :o...!
LOL...!

Pic No. 6 illustrates how difficult it must be for the pilot to judge his height from the water when landing, especially when he needs to pitch the nose of the floats up slightly just before touch-down... :o...!

Fantastic shots, Ken...more and more... ;)... ;D...!

Paul... 8)...!

P.S.  late request...What's the difference between the radial engined Otter and the radial engined Beaver...?

Thanks for the kind words, you make me want to post more images from here, but for me, its just home now......nothing special really. I guess I must be settling in now........

Paul:
I'll see if I can find "that woman" again and get her to stand beside the Beaver for a shot or two......like all women, she really hates to have her pic taken.....its the "woman thing" about looking too fat .......

Hi Ken...!

Try and encourage Wendy to pose for three (or more) photos beside the Beaver...
...and tell her, from me, that I've never seen someone look so young...and slim...8)...!
LOL...!

Cheers, Ken... ;D...!

Paul...ever the creep... ;)...!

Hi Ken...you made my day :)

Wonderful shot of the PW-R-1340 DeHavilland of Canada DHC-3 "Otter".

I am not sure what the other pilot was talking about but I put over 7000 hours on the radial engined Otter on wheels, wheel/skis, floats and amphibious floats flying bush, commercial and military operations.

The radial engined Otter will outperform anything built as far as a light single engine utility or bush aeroplane goes except for the Turbo Otter.

Cheers...Happy Landings...Doug
P.S. I hope someone is going to make a radial engined Otter for FS2004 or better.
