Best of '05
Hello,
The airshow season is over for this year...allas. I was only able to go to 4 airshows this year so I didn't make very much photos...around 2500 I guess. Anyway, it's not only quantity that's important!
It was my first year with a Canon L lens and I was (and still am) very happy with my photos of this year. Here are the five best ones. Just my humble opinion, but for me they all have something special. I see them like my little babies. :)
Here they are...
KLu Apache at Fairford: the first time I saw flares at an airshow! It was a pretty impressive sight, and I'm not the only one that has this opinion. This demo got the award for best demo at RIAT '05. :o

French Mirage 2000: just another demo with a simple pass, but here, Fabrice turned the belly of his 2000 nice into the sun creating a very sharp image. 8) In the full size image, every rivet is visible...that's what I like to see in good aircraft photos...DETAIL! ;)

Does this need an explanantion? The best European display team in formation with three recce Spitfires. One of them the Griffon powered contra prop. 8) Truly a moment of Britisch glory and a sight and sound to behold. When they came over, the crowd went 'WOW'. I have nothing more to add!

The Sanicole airshow was filled with heavy rain showers and cloudy skies. Thanks to the humidity and the fast turn of this incredible bomber, I got to catch this shockwave. :) It went fast, it was loud and it was wet, but it was definitaly worth it! 8)

A Belgian A109. Not very special, but thanks to the sun that came through the clouds for just a brief moment, I could get this sharp image. Like the Mirage photo, every detail is visible (in the hi res version). Once again, detail is what I like.

Hopefully I can make much more and better photos next year. Thanks to that dang school, I missed many good shows last year. >:( For now, Duxford, Fairford and Sanicole are the ones I will visit for sure in 2006. Cya there!
Thanks for watching. ;)
