some Katrina aftermath shots
Here's some random post-Katrina snaps, courtesy of my friend Stevie Z... he was living in New Orleans, but had just started a job in the Baton Rouge area before the hurricane hit...didn't have a place to live up there yet, however.
He made a few trips down to NOLA once the water started receding, and some roads had been cleared, to fetch his stuff and help some friends clean up their homes and businesses:

Few of these flimsy gas station carports were spared:

A friend's house... the roof got torn up by the wind, then the water came in. what a mess.

On the road back north- military convoys everywhere:

One of the places SZ stayed at north of the lake, during his brief "refugee" period:

He certainly didn't starve during that time- here's a traditional serving of crawfish and oysters, in a flat-bottom skiff... just the way it's supposed to be done. Mmmmmm...
