Why can't we get timbale cymbals for our quad players.. :( :)

More great shots, Ramos. What's with the uniform T-shirts? ::)

James

p.s.- Are those the special quad (quint)-snare sticks in the last shot? We only use those sticks that you have in the first shot for our quads.

things to explain:

the sticks: we use 3 types of sticks, you see 2 modles in the pics. the 3rd is a yarn type of mallet, give the drums an "airy" feel.

the cymbals: they kick ass, this is the 2nd time we've used them

the pit: we have 11 new freshmen this year

the shirts: this was taken in august, these are our theme shirts we wear under the uniforms. makes us all "uniformal" when we dont wear our jackets.

im soo close to finding a recording of our drum solo. james i'd know you'd love it.

That's cool. Wish we had those flat rigs for the snares when I played snare in HS marching band... sucked for me playing at an angle because I always played "like-hand" (started doing that when I got a drumset- couldn't really hit 'em right with the "traditional" grip).
I can do the weird left hand thing , but unless the drum is angled, what's the point?
And although the old-school sling was lighter than that whole brace dealie, the field drums we used were about twice that size... sounded great (nice Premiers), but damn heavy!!
Those quints look a little lighter than the three-drum rig that our tom player carried around, also.... ah, the bad old days... isn't it boring hearing about that? Back in my day, etc, etc...;D
Wait, I'm scrolling back... dig the little cymbal! That's pretty interesting...
I'd like to hear you guys!

I feel bad for your sousaphones, I'm using a 30 year old fiberglass one at my high school and it weighs about 30lbs, quite painful last night when we had to stand at attention for 20 minutes so they could congradulate all the seniors.

We use Premiers, too. Probably about the same age as yours. :)
