Duxford Autumn show 4
Posted: Mon Oct 17, 2005 11:52 amHere's a few more from yesterday's show. First the solo RAF Hawk in its new display markings that show up very well in the air. A great improvement on the usual all-black. It's based at RAF Valley in Wales hence the dragon on the tail.
One of the Black Cats, the excellent RN helicopter display team.
TFC boss Stephen Grey in the Curtiss Hawk 75. The commentator said this is the only airworthy example in the world. I don't know how true that is.
Two examples of the North American T-28 'Fennec'. A big powerful advanced trainer.
I know that Americans like their creature comforts but that canopy must be the biggest one I've seen on this type of aircraft. I reckon there's enough room for 10 passengers & their baggage in there with space to spare. The poor old pilot looks a tad lonely.
Now for the Mustangs. It's difficult to believe that these are from the same stable as the T-28.
And finally the jet equivalent to the Mustang landing in the haze after its display.
