Duxford Autumn show 3

Last for now. I have a few more but will give the others a chance. These are the best Spitfire shots I got all day. Seeing & hearing seven of these beauties & two Hurricanes coming at me from all directions was a fitting end to the display season. There's something very special about the Spitfire & I can understand Mark's obsession with it. ;)

Here they come. This is what many people have been waiting for.

Merlins over Malta tribute to end the show. I didn't hang around & left at this point but it still took me something like 30 minutes to get out of the car park.

:oFantastic shots Hagar :o

I'm really kicking myself about my shots as I should have borrowed my father's 7 megapixel camera. Oh well...next time

:o 7 megapixels. That must be some camera. Mine is ony 2 point something or other.

I find it's not so much the megapixels but the lens - & what you do with it of course. ;)

Hey Doug, love shot 2. I was just to the left of the guy lying down to the left of the shot. I'll give my excuses in the "where were you" thread later.

Shots to follow soon, sorry I missed you all

Steve

Hmmm. So you didn't like the look of me. Can't say I blame you. I would be a tad suspicious of me myself. :D

PS. Maybe I've suddenly gone blind but I can't see anyone lying down. ??? ;)

PPS. Wait, yes I can. You mean the chap in the yellow jacket. Had me going there for a moment. 8)

Shot 2, at the extreme left, at the top of the patch of grass at the left hand edge of the shot, is a man in a hi-vis jacket lying down taking shots of the sits taxiing.

I was off the left hand side of the shot, sitting under the nose of the Vulcan. You'll see in my shots later.

As if I'd not come say hello  :o

We spent the morning at North Weald, and have some fantastic shots inside a hangar....just wait!

As a result we didn't arrive at Duxford until 13.15, we sat straight down for our lunch (very nice) and went straight to the shackleton, by which time you were obviously long gone.

We did keep an eye out for you, but basically spent most of our time sitting under the Vulcan before getting straight back on the coach, you were obviously up at your spot beyond the American museum.

Got some good shots on a borrowed Pentax (Yaks's !  :o), and some of the low speed shots on the mju came out ok too. The North Weald pics are exciting, and we spent the previous day at RAF Hendon, so i have quite  few threads to spread over the coming weeks  ;D

Catch you next time Doug, promise  ;)

To be honest I thought that was a runway marker. ::) ;)

Catch you next time Doug, promise ;)

OK then. I forgive you. :-* ;)

Ah, the real classics. Stunning. Nothing like a post full of Spitfires and Hurricanes. I love the Merlins over Malta shot.
