Took Jr TSC to see these today........

Hi all,

Well it's Jr TSC's 4th birthday tomorrow, so today we took him down to Dobwalls Adventure Park in Cornwall because he's absolutely stark raving bonkers about trains.

Unfortunately, Jr still thinks 'smile' means 'show me every single one of your teeth!!':

'William Jeffers' No.4008. Built by Severn Lamb of Stratford upon Avon, 4008 arrived in November 1978, and is a replica of the famous Union Pacific "Big Boy" articulated
steam locomotive, the world's largest design.
It is probably the most powerful 1.5 inch scale locomotive in the world:

'Centennial' No.6908. After the world's largest steam locomotive, came a model of the
world's largest diesel-electric, again from the Union Pacific - the mighty
EMD DDA 40 X 'Centennial' design.
Supplied in 1979 again by Severn Lamb of Stratford upon Avon, 6908 is
powered by a Leyland 1.5 ltr diesel engine with hydraulic transmission,
originally to one of the special four axle bogies:

Jr TSC & a perfect mirror ;D:

Cheers,

TSC.

Nice TSC.

I wish they would still use locomotives like that today, sure it would be a bumpy ride, but they are just so cool! ;D ;D ;)

wow that looks very cool. next time i go to the UK (which will be my first, whenever it is...)  i'm seeing that.

:)Ramos

Hey, what a smile!

Have you been to Lappa Valley TSC?

We got to St Ives once a year, and Lappa Valley is always a firm family favourite

I think any young boy who isn't interested in trains isn't normal! I would have certainly wanted to go there when I was younger :)

Very interesting. Has anyone visited the North Yorkshire Moors Steam Railway? http://www.northyorkshiremoorsrailway.com/

There you can see the real (full-sized) thing & possibly have a ride on them. I must take a trip up there myself in the not too distant future.

Unfortunately, Jr still thinks 'smile' means 'show me every single one of your teeth!!'

I'm still inclined to do that & rarely come out well in posed photos. Although my granddaughter has no teeth yet I suspect she takes after me. ::) ;)

Good to see you're bringing him up well TSC. I was brought up on a diet of planes, trains and lorries and chose the former as my career...

May have to pop in to see that Doug, its only just up the road. Of course for us the National Railway Museum is on our doorstep (and is now free). We were thinking of taking 4472 to Scarborough but I've heard its off the rails for a new boiler for a year or two... I wish they still used "Mallard". Gorgeous locomotive...

Aye, we took him there when we stayed in Malton a while ago - I think he was speechless when we walked into the Great Hall:
