So I get up Saturday morning and decide to take a road trip to Philly Int'L for some spotting.  I had a location picked out for spotting finals to 27L and the gates were locked and would not open until 10:00. It's 8:00 now.
So I go up to the UPS cargo terminal and pull in their parking lot and capture so departures from 27R.
I was shooting for about 45 minutes when Police, PHL Officials and the press start rolling into the lot.
I go up to one of the PHL officials and ask him whats going on and he tells me today is EPEX.
He goes to tell me that there will be a simulated crash and rescue equipment from the area will be there.
He also said alot of college students will be crash victims.
I asked him if I can stay and watch and asked if was invited.  I asked him to invite me and he laught.
Then he got a nice City of Philadelphia Police Officer to escort me back to the main road and out of the area.
Before I left he did give me one of the event booklets so here is some of it and I'll post what pictures I took in a bit.

It would have been a cool to see this.  As I was leaving I went past another UPS parking lot on the other
side of there terminal and there had to be close to a hundred firetrucks, ambulance, etc. etc............
If I could have stop I would have got a shot of all the emrgency equipment.
The nice Officer would not let me. ( He really was a pretty cool Cop. )

Sadly you wouldn't have gotten onto the airfield no matter how much begging and bribing you could do. All those involved would have had weeks of background checks to get them airside. Shame. But cool photos of the program there:)

Too bad. But at least you got a spiffy program... get a load of that!
Were there cocktails, too (in Area 9)?
;D

One thing that's very odd is that they used the name of a real airline for the simulation... does SWA know about this?
