LOL... was just sifting thru this summer's crop of random pix and this made me... well, it made me LOL. This is the tenuous connection through which my loft-mates and I communicate with the cyber-world... it sort of evolved, as opposed to being planned. There's CAT5 strung everywhere, quite hastily, I might add. This spot (near where the cable pops thru the wall onto our floor) is about 200 feet from my room; made for some very cardiovascular troubleshooting sessions when there were some problems with the routers... :D

I see that you have successfully created an effective central nervous system. 8)

I suppose the two Linksystem routers represent the two cerebral hemispheres and the black box making up the brain stem and the rest of the messy wires being the peripheral nerves.

Sorry, I know too much. ;D

Katahu ...... you've been taking to many of your own meds haven't you? ::) ::) ::)

Rotty I thought I had problems with the several miles of cable behind mine and the wifes desks..... but having to jog 200ft to troubleshoot it too would certainly have me loosing weight.  :-X

The first time I must've logged two miles... mine was the only terminal available, so I had to go back there to check results of resetting, etc.
I'd have been better off bringing my PC over there, but of course the whole time it seemed like success was around the corner. ..Damn Linksys support people would never explain why the routers were freaking out or why the fix was different every time ... and oh yeah, to get at that setup I have to climb up on a chair, also. Gotta redo that whole setup one of these days...

Cool... expensive electrical IT-material very close to some old, rusty waterpipes... guess you like to live life dangerous!  ;D

Why don't you try to convince people it's an art-installation or something...  ;)

No, those are ancient defunct steam pipes. This building was a factory, built 100 years ago and heated originally with steam. The vertical pipes seen there under the power distro/surge supressor are part of a big radiator near a window; there are a few of those on our floor. In my room, there are six 2" pipes running along the wall between the windows and the floor; must've been toasty in here when that system was operational. They used to continue all the way around one side of the building, but we removed a lot of them years ago (the scrap man was our best friend for a while- that's a lot of cast iron!). I've been too lazy to do the same in my room; it's a lot of work cutting them up.
And yes- this whole joint is like an art installation...LOL.
