Hurricanes

No Battle of Britain tribute can be complete without the Hawker Hurricane. Five gathered this weekend and did a taxi run along the crowd line.





Hurricanes claimed two thirds of all enemy aircraft destroyed during the Battle of Britain and whilst the Spitfire got all the glory, the Hurricane won the fight.

I'll post some shots of the Spitfire taxi run and Veterans drive by later.

It is always good to see so many of these superb aircraft. I think only two of the UKs airworthy examples were missing. I don't think I've ever seen more than four in one place before.

Close. AE977 which was restored and flown a few years ago by Hawker Restorations in Suffolk is airworthy in the US. Having said that, it doesn't appear as a Sea Hurri, and is finished in Douglas Bader's (242 Sqn of the top of my head) colours...

Yep, LF363 from the BBMF, and the RACo's nightfighter "BE417"
