Grumpy's air display

Postby Hagar » Sun Sep 11, 2005 4:29 pm

Well, due to some 'typical' British weather it's been a disappointing weekend. :-[ Never mind. Grumpy to the rescue with his own private air show in the sunshine. ;)

Some of these have been posted before but I reprocessed them for printing. These are the resized versions. Here's a few Spitfires to start the show.

PS. What's the betting the sun comes out tomorrow? ::)

So what do you call a beautiful sunny day, after two straight days of cloudy, cool, miserable nonsense...............................................................

There are two types of aeroplane, Spitfires and everything else that wishes it was a Spitfire!

It's a perfect day here in Nottingham. No cloud, no wind, sunny skies. Bugger.
Great shots pal, don't care if we've seen them before, makes up for me not getting these shots yesterday. Roll on October :)

Spectacular, especially for someone who claims to have bad luck with Spitfires. ;)

Thanks for the comments. I didn't post any more as I don't wish to hog the limelight. As for Spitfire shots, these are about the best ones I've taken over a period of a year. Apart from the last one they were all taken at the Flying Legends display at Duxford in July this year. I missed them in the air & got these while they were landing. Spitfires were coming at me over my shoulder in quick succession & I missed half of them. ::)

The last one was taken at Old Warden some time last season & is the sort of shot I really wanted. I'm still trying for that perfect Spitfire shot.

PS. Whoever took these must have been standing very close to me. http://www.airshows.org.uk/2005/airshows/legends/review.html
I often hang out around the pros' enclosure as I figure they must know what they're doing. ;)
