The Red Arrows and the B-17 shots are fantastic Doug, pity you missed Ray but I can understand not wanting to camp overnight to get out

Glad you like 'em Mark. There were 5 Spitfires at the show but as usual I didn't get any decent shots. I can't think why this should be as I have no problems with much faster aircraft like the Jag on a fast run. Maybe I'm trying too hard. :'(

Thanks Craig. It is indeed tricky as because of the shutter delay you have to anticipate where they will be some time after pressing the button. I took your tip & kept both eyes open, like using my old telescope.

It either works or you go cross eyed

I find it works for me 8 times out of 10 and my eyes arnt too badly crossed

So whens the next show? lol

I'm used to it. I was a hot shot with that old telescope in my youth.
Next show is Duxford next weekend. Hoping to get some decent Spitfire shots but I'm none too confident.

Not sure which day I'll be going yet. Probably Saturday as there's a fly-in at Popham on Sunday. I should be so lucky.

I had a feeling we'd see more... good stuff.
And you're right about the "both eyes" technique; definitely helps. I also used that technique when I had a refractor-type telescope... and I haven't gone cross-eyed yet. ;D

Great shots!!!!! I really like the Bearcat shot.
Not many of those flying that haven't been modified
for racing. Love the B-17 shot.

Thank you.

It always surprises me which ones different people like best. Makes it worthwhile posting them.

I appreciate your comments. It's "Sally B" - the only airworthy B-17 based in the UK.

Well with 18 to choose from you should get a few me thinks

These are great shots pal, love the Red Arrows pics. I am looking forward to Sunday now as it seems ages ago that I was last at an airshow.

That's part of the problem. With all those beautiful aircraft coming at me from all directions I never know which one to point the camera at.

Thanks. Depending on the weather I'm looking at being there on Saturday.

Wow, beautiful planes! Shame we don't always get that kind of display, but I should drive down the hour to Ft. Lauderdale (I live West Palm Beach, FL) to the Air & Sea show next time thats around.
