Oskosh Leftovers Part 2

Postby MIKE JG » Tue Sep 06, 2005 8:38 am

Last three pictures I wanted to share.

First this little thing was out in the GA parking area.  Best of all it was for sale.  Sorry but it's too ugly for my taste.   ;D

Imagine my surprise when I came around the corner and spied a look at this beauty.  I'd only ever seen this aircraft in one place, the sim world when it was released as freeware earlier this year.  So imagine my surprise and appreciation when I saw the actual aircraft sitting in front of me.

And finally while not strange yet another example of an aircraft that up until this moment I had never seen except for in the sim world.  My first thought was "hey that's the Corsair that the mod on Simviation has in his sig."  Funny to see that Kevin was also at KOSH and taking a closer look at this machine.

Very nice. ;)

That first one looks like an Edgar Percival EP9 Prospector. http://www.sangbe.uku.co.uk/SANArchive/San01/April/April01p4.htm

A couple were based at my local airport a few years ago, owned by warbird restorer Jim Pearce & used for his cropdusting business. Not the best looking aircraft in the world & very noisy but a useful workhorse. I believe a few are still earning their keep in places like Australia.

LOL... that poor old "Percy" was for sale when I was there in '03... :D!!
 Goofy-looking, but I'll bet it's a pretty good utility aircraft. I like the aft cargo door(s)... ;D
And damn, that Howard is breathtaking. I saw a 500 there on my visit, but not that one. Yum. And a really excellent airplane, to boot.

That first one is the ugliest plane!  Its even worse when compared with the beautiful howard, one of the best looking planes ever imo.
