Peg and I have both had our dip and a little rest; time to explore a little.
They've hung a nice banner on what's left of "The Casino" since our last visit. The bulk of the amusement pier has been desroyed, but this building and the carousel house are being kept and, I guess, eventually restored.
They've stabilized the main part of the Casino so that it's safe to walk through; there's a gallery of pictures depicting the history of the town and the park.
One of the pictures: the Casino as it appeared towards the end of its active years, probably just a couple of years before I was born. This is more or less how I remember the place, although it was already a little run-down in the early 70s when I was last there.
Don't think I ever went ice-skating in the casino, but this old sign stirred some vague memories of this place.
Part of the roof of the carousel house... at least I think that's what it was; it's boarded-up now. There was a carousel here (it was dismantled and sold years ago), and this round structure is the most likely spot...
