Departure day - Harriers

Here's the Harriers leaving. Hope to see them again in a couple of weeks. Not sure yet as they might be based at Biggin.

This is the best I could do. I'd better not tell you I missed the shots of the year, if not the decade. Two Harriers doing a fast & low beatup of the tower. I had an idea of where they were approaching from but didn't see them before they shot over the top of the hangar with the condensation shimmering. I swear I could have jumped up & touched them as they went overhead. Bam - Bam.
OK, maybe not quite but it was the most impressive beatup I've ever seen & everyone on the airfield will be talking about it for years to come. Hopefully the young photographer from the Archive did better than me. He rushed off to get his film developed with a huge grin on his face. I've been promised a peek.
Hang on Mark. I haven't forgotten you but don't get too excited. That Spitfire jinx is still haunting me I'm afraid.
