Well, not much went right for me today. The wind was all wrong for approach shots so I didn't bother hanging around for the Harrrier like I did last year. My ears are still ringing from that little episode.

Here's some shots to capture a little of the atmosphere.

The reserve Harrier arrives. Psst. Don't look now old chap but you're being followed.



A couple of brave souls try wing-walking. They won some sort of comp in the local newspaper. Not sure they knew they'd been nominated or when they found out what they were in for. Jolly good sports.



I really like this effect. Taken directly into the light, fortunately the sun is behind a big cloud.

Wish I could show you the display when this arrived but I was a little too far away. Not sure who was flying it. Probably John Romain.


Would have liked to pop along to Eastbourne over the weekend to see the the full show (including the Bone, Dutch F-16, Typhoon & the Red Arrows among others) but sadly I have other commitments. Never mind. I really enjoyed the last couple of days. The weather was not as bad as it looks in my photos. It's great entertainment & all for free. RAFA Show in a couple of weeks. Maybe I can do better then.

Hi Doug. Brilliant shots. any of the lynx? the gazzels are great but we all know its the lynx who stars:) That first shot of the merlin solo is awesome, what still gets me is the size of its rotor blades, around they are only all less than a cricket pitch and yet its still amazingly agile.

Thanks Craig, Yes. I have a few of the Lynx but you asked for the Gazelle.

That Merlin makes a strange whipping sound. I can't really describe it but it's very unusual.

Of course because i am a fan of the gazelle:) but also of the lynx:) Look at it this way, more exposure for your great photos

The latter, sort of, well margarine pretending to be butter. Over here we have "Utterly Butterly" and "I can't believe its not butter" and several others along the same lines...

Those are incredible!!
I really like the wing-walking shots; never have seen one from that "below and in front" angle before.
I'd love to try that... looks like fun! Imagine taking a picture from up there...!!
