No it's not a typo. Airbourne = Eastbourne Air Display.

Felix's 'Shoreham' topic explains what this is about so I won't go into details. Here's a few shots of the Service display teams arriving. Most of them will be here for four days. Some depart on Monday morning.

The Tucanos from Linton-on-Ouse were the first to arrive. Unfortunately I missed their traditional run & break.

Charlie might recognise these chaps.

Ah, here's the Blue Eagles. Very popular at Shoreham & always welcome. They had to leave one Gazelle behind but hopefully it will follow on tomorrow. No smoke this year. Health & Safety regulations again.

Next to arrive is the Chinook. No mistaking that thumping sound.

Here's some of the Blue Eagles with the Chinook crew.

Ah, the Harrier's here. Only one today. The reserve should arrive tomorrow. The pilot told me he got a black mark. Someone rang up to complain about the noise of his fast run on arrrival. I didn't think it was terribly noisy myself, not compared to hover mode anyway. ::)

The Tutors are the last to arrive completing the set. The heavier RAF aircraft are based elsewhere but sometimes give us a pass down the runway to say Hello. I spotted a C-130 on its way to Eastbourne.

Meet my new friend Megan. 7 years old & already mad about aeroplanes. She's a keen member of the Young Aviators club at the airport. She likes drawing the planes so her granddad said why not ask the crews to sign them. She has a book full of autographed drawings starting from this time last year. Some of them really excellent. The Blue Eagles chaps fell for her & took her out on the airfield for a special guided tour of their helicopters. What a little cutie. ;)

I may well do! The middle one is the one with his name on the aircraft above, t'other two are from the "other" Sqn at Linton... ;D

Nice shots Doug - look forward to seeing some more as the weekend progresses... :)

You haven't missed a show in your area  yet this year, have you? ;D
Nice buncha photos, and I like to think that when the cranky biddy who complained about the noise is dead and gone, Megan will still be around, carrying the torch. Who knows? She might be up there someday"zooming and booming", herself...  ;D

Thanks Charlie. Tomorrow will be my last chance as I'll be in your part of the world over the weekend.
