Hi all,
Just seen these, they're so close i'm not even sure if it's not an edit - maybe somebody else can shed some light on 'em for me.

Cheers,
TSC.

Well they are awfully good edits if they are. I'd say they were real myself.

That's exactly what I thought Saitek, very good if they're edits, but i'm inclined to think they're real aswell.
Maybe the angle makes them look a bit closer aswell.
Cheers,
TSC.

Not to be picky, but you do know those aren't MiG's right? lol Their Su-27's.
Dude, those are flippin awesome pictures! I'd be willing to bet their real. Look at pics of any other demo team doing similar fly-bys and they look similar.
but I am curious as to what the second one looks like in real life... how could you stay in formation when it's intake to intake?
Well, I take that back, elevons and ailerons are deflected to show rolls in opposite directions. Looks as though they're doing a tuck under cross or similar maneuver. (ie. both planes appear to be line abreast and each does a 270 degree roll to the outside then begins sharp turn, cutting infront of the other aircraft)
Those are sweet... I'd love to see the Russian Knights perform!

No, that's cool - i'm not to good with my Russian planes & it's getting a bit late here anyway.
I don't even know who the team are & i'm to tired now to even bother looking :D

If they're not fakes they might not be quite as close as they look. Telephoto lenses have the effect of foreshortening perspective. Not sure which team this is but the safety record of some is not that good. Maybe you don't remember two MiG 29s colliding at RIAT 1993. Fortunately the pilots ejected safely & nobody was hurt. Video here.

No big deal. Reading my post now sounded snobby... sorry about that!

Yeah, I believe their the Russian Knights. Never seen them, but would certainlky like to! I LOVE Russian jets. They just look so big and mean, ya know? lol I love the lines of the Su-27 series. Even the -33(?) that looks like a platapus... in fact, isn't that what it's called? Anyway, awesome pics, I've got 'em as my BG now.

I'm not sure if it was RIAT or not, but the other day my uncle was telling me about an airshow he had been to (he flew the Herc in for static) where 2 MiGs collided, and upon returning to terra firma, the two pilots calmly approached each other and promptly lit their cigarettes as debris was falling next to them.
I'll ask him tonight for confimation when I see him.

It was probably the same one. One thing not shown on that video. The newsreader commented at the time that one of the pilots was injured. I think his face was bandaged. However, his injury was not caused in the incident. After they both ejected safely one pilot walked up his colleague & punched him in the face.

Assuming they're not edits:
Telephoto or not, that's pretty close for jets in the clean configuration. At the slowest speed possible, one tiny flick of the wrist and you could have a situation... cool photos!
But looking again, they could be edits... take four different photos of the same display; two of #20, two of #25, put #25's inverted pass with #20's rightside-up pass, then another combo with one banking left and one banking right... all taken from the same spot on the ground...hmmmm...

What you see here is the courtship and mating of two Su-27s. In 11 months, the female will give birth to a MiG-29.

Seriously though, I don't think they are edits. The second one was a result of good timing.

Yep, RIAT '93. That Belgian Herc in the video suffered a damaged tail due to debris. The pilots of said Herc were standing on top of the aircraft and pretty much jumped off the top when large pieces of metal were raining down on top of it. My uncle's C-130 was parked not too far away either.

I think your worrying about nothing there Boss - it didn't come across as snobby to me.
Although I do have 25 PM's here saying 'Don't worry about Boss - he's just being snobby'

Cheers,
TSC.
