BTW, what camera are you using now, and are these shots done with optical or digital zoom?
I'm sure you've posted the specs before (?), but haven't found them... I'm going crazy trying to decide what (inexpensive) digital camera to buy, and although I'd love 10x optical zoom or better, the price jump above 4x is pretty dramatic. If these shots were made with combined optical/digital zoom, I'd say that's a pretty good camera.

I'm delighted with some of these myself. Strange how tastes vary. I think shot #4 of the Hind is possibly the best photo I've ever taken. Purely by accident of course, like all the others.

Depends what you call digital zoom. I crop most of my photos in IrfanView which is much the same thing. The problem with this type of camera is judging the amount of zoom you need for each photo. I very often get it wrong & nobody is more surprised than me when the odd one turns out dead centre & full frame. A very rare occurrence indeed.

Or you could get a 300D which although a little older, would still do everything you need it too. My advice stick with what you have really. Yours does alot of the processing in the camera automatically. The DSLR doesnt. Unless thats something you want to branch out into?

I like the 350D Craig. About the same size as my S5000 with similar features to the 20D, only better  - or so the experts tell me. It also has a fully automatic mode. I've had a demonstration of it & I'm sure it would suit me. The only problem is the price. I haven't learned how to use the one I have properly yet.

Ah, but there's the difference you see. I never had any interest in all that messing around. I have enough problems as it is & if I had to worry about setting it up first I would miss every shot. The plane would be a mile away before I was ready.

I'll never make a "proper" photographer. All I every wanted to do is take reasonable pictures of pretty aeroplanes. I'm quite pleased with the results so far.

And these, are to be honest. Very pretty pictures:)

Yet once again.......very nice work there, Doug  :o.......if anyone could call a day out capturing all that fine hardware, "Work"..........
