That first one is a glider and looks like a Slingsby Grasshopper.
My Warrant Officer back when I was an air cadet learnt to fly on one, that took courage!

Thanks for that Mark. I wonder why it is called a Grasshopper.  ::) Doesn't look very stable anyway.

It was a prehistoric aircraft, my AWO was nearing retirement! It didn't so much land as plough ;D
