Old Warden statics

I'm still going through all the photos I took last weekend. Here's a few random shots taken during the day at Old Warden before the Sunset Display on Saturday. Some people seem to prefer shots of aircraft on the ground & the weather was perfect. My old F401 fits conveniently in my top pocket & is ideal for this job. A little sunshine makes all the difference. ;)

Great photos again Hagar pal. We have a light aircraft fly-in and short display of Merlin powered aircraft at Rolls Royce Hucknall on Saturday so I hope to have so photos of that to post at the weekend.

Hey, cool pics Hagar-I especially like the last 2 (I really like WWI aircraft).  I know the first one is an SE.5a, but what is the second one?  If I had to guess, I would say a Morane-Saulnier Bullet but those were used mainly by the French and I don't think they had a round tail like that.  Anyway, could you identify the last one?   ;)

*PS. I don't think it's flown for a while.

Haven't seen it in the air for a year or two. Engineering gremlins I expect, or maybe just rotating the collections aircraft so they aren't always airworthy (if you ground an aircraft for a year you don't have to worry about the same extent of insurance and pilot currency, probably saving several thousand pounds) - the collection is certainly big enough to do so.

On a flying note, I've heard it being likened to trying to land a (wet) bar of soap...
:)

Very nice photos Doug. I'm starting to like Old Warden. Last week I came across this one: http://www.airliners.net/open.file/864504/L/
Simply beautiful with the grass and old barn at the back.  8)

Wonderful shots Doug...wonderful ;)

You posted my favorite World War One Aeroplane the SE5A which I would trade the old girl, all the kids, their wives and their kids to have in the hangar ;DLOL

Looks like you are having another great year...have fun!

Cheers...Happy Landings...Doug

What is the aircraft with the parasol wing in the fourth pic?

It looks like it might be a "Pietenpol Air-Camper"
Those were originally fitted with a Model-A Ford automotive engine!

That's exactly what it is. ;)
They're very popular over here now. Being homebuilts they can vary a great deal. This one was built in 1991 with a modern Continental C90-14F.
