Blue tits....

Well after trying to encourage birds to nest in our garden for years a pair finally did and the wee birds took off just a day before my 18th birthday. (i.e yesterday!).
I was restrained from taking pics, incase I scared them off - so I only have the one taken two days before they flew.
The first shows the box with the anti-cat protection installed! the thorns are an inch long on that burborous The little local horrors caused much distress up until we intervened.
The others are self explanatory.

For those wanting to know what a blue tit is here is some info.

I later found out when reading up on them that only 1 out of those gorgeous faces is only going to survive.
I'd have taken some as pets (they were perfectly tame and totally unafraid of people and we could stroke their beaks through the hole).
They came back later in the day and one of the babies landed on the window inches from us - it was like a goodbye from them all!
Hope you enjoyed them.
