A rare sight indeed. Two genuine BoB veterans.

The BBMF Spitfire Mk IIa P7350 - the oldest airworthy Spitfire in the world and the only survivor of the Battle of Britain still flying. She is believed to be the 14th aircraft of 11,989 built at the Castle Bromwich 'shadow' factory, Image

Peter Vacher's immaculately restored Hurricane Mk I R4118. I really like this shot.

Just gets better Doug. A rare sight that I'm sad to have missed with the two BoB veterans. Stu Goldspink was flying the Vacher Hurricane apparently. A pat on the back for whoever at the MoD let them fly together.

Did they say who owns the Bestmann?

Nice to see a close relative of work's Harvard (ours is KF183) :)

Shame I didn't get some better shots. My Spitfire jinx is still haunting me. ::)

I thought at first is was 'your' Harvard. Not sure who owns the Bestmann but I'm sure I can find out. First time I've seen it. It was one of the visitors & didn't take part in the actual display. Lots of rare aircraft there yesterday.

If it was I would have tried to make sure many months ago that I was in it! ;D

I'm sure. :P :D

The Bestmann is G-GLSU (ex D-EDUB). Registered owner is G. R. Lacey at Epsom. Not sure where it's based.

Ahhhh. I was wondering if it was Glenn Lacey's. He's the chap whose been registering some very interesting German types over the past year or two.
