Awesome shots Craig. We don't have much like that here in America. :(

thanks:) for those, who are interested this is actually a victorian town which has workers dress up in victorian era clothing and basically act out the day as though it were. was pretty funny listening to a policeman and cobbler arguing about queen victoria in the middle of the street.

Very nice shots Craig. Hope you enjoyed it. I found it a fascinating place. The town is named Ironbridge after the bridge which was the the first iron bridge in the world, built in 1779. http://www.virtual-shropshire.co.uk/ironbridge-gorge-museum/

thanks charlie.

They should have given you a map of the site with your tickets. I still have mine somewhere but it's tucked away in the back of a drawer somewhere. From the look of that bullding it's part of the old blast furnaces. Check this out. http://www.bbc.co.uk/shropshire/features/places/blists_hill/blist_gallery_24.shtml

The steep railway in pics #3 & #4 is one of the few remaining examples of a Hay Inclined Plane. An ingenious piece of Victorian engineering to transfer tub barge cargo from one level to another. The vertical drop from the canal to the river is 207 feet. Without it you would need to go through multiple locks.

Here endeth your history lesson for today. ;)
