Sally B - A tribute

Sally B has been the sole airworthy B-17 in the UK for many years. On the 30th anniversary of when she arrived in the UK she has been grounded due to new EU insurance legislation. We won't be seeing her in the air again until this mess is sorted out one way or another. Here's a few shots I took at Duxford & Shoreham last season as my little tribute to this beautiful aircraft. Let's hope it won't be long before this is a common sight once more.

Sally B will be sadly missed on the UK airshow scene unless something is sorted. Sad times for vintage aviation enthusiasts  :'(
Fantastic photos Haggar pal.

why does it have one yellow painted engine?

It's in memory of Ted White who was responsible for bringing Sally B to the UK in 1975. He was tragically killed on a local flight in his Harvard in Malta in 1981. The cowling is in the same markings as his Harvard. http://sallyb.dcgservices.com/history_frameset.php?p=3
