A little bit of culture

It's been a busy weekend for me one way or another. On the way up to visit my daughter for a few days Grumpy's (nearly-famous) Mystery Tours stopped off at Stratford-upon-Avon for a little sightseeing trip. ;)

Stratford is a picture basking in the Spring sunshine. The Bard was apparently born in this house.

This is one end of the Stratford canal set in a beautiful park. You can travel by water to Birmingham, Liverpool, York or London from here. The signpost tells you how far it is & how many locks involved.

Or you can go through this lock into the River Avon.

This is the river. Delightful. ;)

I can recommend it. The prices are not as bad as I expected either. 8)

Beautiful photos Doug, any yup that is where young Will was born. His father was a rather important local businessman (glove maker), and so his birth is registered in the parish church along with his address ;)

Thanks. Glad you like 'em. ;)

What! No aeroplanes?

I thought it would make a change from the usual aeroplanes. Grumpy's Tours caters for all tastes. Well, almost all tastes. We draw the line at some things. ::) You never know for certain where you'll end up but we're a respectable outfit. Prices are very reasonable too. 8) :D

Kilroy!

He's actually Mr. Chad, the British version of Kilroy. ;)

That lock seems to be quite the novelty. ;D
