Well, its that time of year again-or almost.

Nice - especially the '69 Camaro.

FYI - My brother had a '69 with the 302, but had to put in 350 ... after he blew the 302.

At one point, he had the '69, I had my hand me down '67, and my dad drove a '70 RS.  Brother's was painted white strips over green, but my dad's and mine were white stripes over orange....

I'll bet that was a sweet car, especially with that DZ302 motor.  Those were really fast.  His '69 Camaro must have been a Z-28 because that was the only way to get that 302 motor.  But, I would imagine that when it was replaced with the 350 it was still fast.  Although it probably didn't rev up as high or acclerate as fast, it would have had a lot more torque.  My '69 has a 350 in it right now and it's pretty quick as it is.

When it comes to the old 30's I'm more into what my grandfather was into which is restoring the car to original condition. IMHO not much can beat cruising through small-town america in a 37 Ford with suicide doors, 3 speed, no power brakes, no power steering, and a flathead v-8....60Hp max I believe is the rating.. :-)

I tell you what, if nothing else them old cars restored to oringal condition can't have too many engine problems as there really isn't much there! :-)

P.S. in the second shot on the far right middle of the picture there is a white car, looks to be either a ford falcon/fairlane, or a mercury comet? Am I even close?  ;D

Nice one Richie. I've never felt the same way about cars as I do about aircraft but I can understand the attraction. For someone who likes to see things retored as authentically as possible, it seems strange that I rather like those old hotrods. Maybe my age has something to do with it. They remind me of the films I used to see in my youth, my impression of what it was like for young people like me in America at the time. We never went in for it in the same way in my part of the world although from what I've seen at the local car show they're quite popular now.

Actually, if I remember right it was a Ford Mustang.  I think it was a 1964.5 or a 1965 but I can't remember.

For someone who likes to see things retored as authentically as possible, it seems strange that I rather like those old hotrods.

I find myself in the same position, I love to see thing restored authentically.  The hot rods I really like are the one's that look almost original but have some small modifications done to them (at least small visible modifications).  My car is going to look basically completely original (with a couple very small changes-basically nothing not avilable in 1969 except for the stereo).  Thats why I perfer Hot Rods from the 30's that are done like the one in my last photo-the Ford 3-Window Coupe.  The way it looks, it still looks like a 30's car.  If it didn't have the flame paint and the modern tires, you really wouldn't know by looking at it.  As far as Hot Rods from this era, this is what I really like.  There were tons of hot rods at this show, and that somewhat plain one was my favorite for that very reason.

Drool... slobber... that's about 1/4 of my Dream Fleet, right there (although I'd def. take the 3-window Ford over the ragtop- not crazy about purple cars).
