More memories from several wonderful days I spent at Old Warden last year. These were taken at the Shuttleworth Pageant on September 5th or the Sunset Display the following weekend.

The sooner i get my license and a car the better. I really want to get to some of these air shows. Wonderful shots doug.

Not many people know this, but since about the age of 8 it has been my ambition to fly for the Shuttleworth Trust.
Stage one has been passed, I'm in the RAF. Now just need to get my wings, go to ETPS or equivalent and get invited...

I know how you feel. when i got my license in jan. first place i went to was O'Hare, but forgot my camera. as soon as you get yours, come join us at the EAA in the summer, if ben is still up to it?

Terrific! What is #3, a Robin?  I saw your 2005 show season schedule posted elsewhere, how awful  it must be to be retired, with all that free time!;)  I wish I could schedule things that far in advance whwnever I want: even weekends are uncertain with this stinkin' job of mine.

What is #3, a Robin?

Glad you asked. I was wondering when someone would. It's a very rare Desoutter I monoplane based on the Koolhoven FK41, the only surviving example. This one was owned by Richard Shuttleworth himself. One unusual feature is that the wing is not attached to the fuselage. http://www.shuttleworth.org/html/shuttleworth/air7.htm

The Sopwith Triplane in shot #2 is not original but was built from the actual plans. Northern Aeroplane Workshops built this example of the Sopwith Triplane for the Collection on an entirely voluntary basis. Sir Thomas Sopwith saw the Triplane while it was being constructed and claimed that it was so accurate that it could be considered as a one-off extension to his original production line. As such our Triplane is called a late production example and carries the serial number 153, which is one more than the last Triplane constructed in 1917. Unfortunately he never saw it fly.

Thanks Charlie. You don't seem to be doing too badly so far. I reckon you will achieve that ambition. I think you deserve it if that's any use. Good luck.
