Cosford engine collection

Well since i have little patience to upload pics to myav one at a time i thought i would put a few more up on here. This time some of the engines they have on display at Cosford.

That Merlins got a load of holes in it! No use to Ozzy...

Bit of baling wire & duct tape will fix that up a treat. Some people have no sense of adventure. Where's the old pioneering spirit? :P :D

Very nice shots Craig. Do you know what they all are? Engines were never my strongest point.

Thanks guys.
I think the the top engine is a Pratt and Whitney twin wasp.
The second is a Pratt and Whitney Wasp junior.
The third obviously Merlin
4th is the Rolls royce Trent engine that powers the 747.
and the 5th is the kestrel i think.

They have a bunch of MiG engines at Oberschleissheim museum... much more interesting

Ivan these are just a few of of the collection that they have. Everything from experimental jet engines to early props. I didnt take pics of them though as i was more interested in going on the simulator next to them ::) :)

And the hall in which the merlin resides is guarded during the day by some school kid and an old guy with a flash light:) Should your Hendon smash and grab fail. ::)
