Nice doug- I can hear (and smell) those old beauties just looking at the pictures. I have a few pictures from many trips to Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome I'll have to get around to posting.

Awesome shots Doug!  I really like the SE.5a and the Sopwith Triplane.

My three favourite aeroplanes as a youg(ish) boy - AR501 (Spit), Z7015 (Sea Hurricane) a.d G-AMRK, the Gladiator...

That Hurricane - Spitfire combination is really excellent! Nice angle too.

Try & make Old Warden on May 1st & pray for nice weather. ;)

When did AR501 grow full wingtips?

Some time ago I think. Ask Charlie. He knows more about it than me. Personally I prefer it with wingtips. ;)

PS. She now has her correct prop back.

When did AR501 grow full wingtips?


2000 or so. Happened when it was repainted for "Pearl Harbo(u)r". The current Chief Pilot (Andy Sephton) prefers it with them...
