Scale Dak

I just treated myself to a new scanner & printer with the intention of restoring my old family photos. I found these old shots I took with my old Canon SureShot when I was heavily involved with R/C flying some years ago. The chap in the photos is our club chairman at the time with his beautiful scale Dakota & Harvard. Unfortunately he had problems with the Harvard retracting gear so couldn't fly it on this particular day.

Two of our club members built scale Dakotas & were part of a team invited to fly them at Arnhem on the 50th anniversary of Operation Market Garden. I think there were 6 Dakotas in all & other members of the team had built Horsa gliders which were successfully towed by the Daks. This apparently went down very well with the locals & veterans & they flew from the same field the first gliders landed in back in 1944. Pete & Dave also have several beautiful scale Spitfires & Hurricanes between them & it's quite an experience watching them put on a display.
I'm still getting used to the scanner but thought these were worth posting.
