The haze will be the smoke from the fireworks themselves I would imagine Craig, great photos however. I miss Guy Fawkes night :'(

No chance. You live in Birmingham and fireworks remain on sale intill new years. So you'll have people letting them off for months yet. ;D

You've got it easy mate!

I live smack-bang in the middle of FOUR parks - and guess what.....

Yep, EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM had a major display yesterday and today >:(

Damn I hate fireworks, especially when some PR**KS let one off on a bus! >:(

Nice shots all the same 8)
I like #3 - it's kinda hectic but peaceful at the same time 8)

Cheers,

Thanks for the comments guys,
I wouldnt care so much if the 11pm laws were followed and enforced. Its just gone 12:30am and still fireworks are going up, and at midnight i heard the loudest non-display firework i have ever heard. Whether its lack of public knowledge of the 11pm law or the sheer ignorance of the general public, i dont know but something needs to be done. I dont hate fireworks in general, i love the public displays heck one of my fondest memories is the July 4th display in america a few years back. But these public sale fireworks are getting ridiculous.
Thanks again guys.
Craig (running to hide under the covers after shutting the windows to get rid of the strong smell of gunpowder) ::)

These turned out better than the ones I took back in the summer. ;)

On the subject of fireworks, there's not much point in bringing in these laws if they're impossible to enforce. I've felt for a long time that it's the sale of the fireworks themselves that should be banned, unless they're for an organised public display. Of course, no government would dare do that for fear of upsetting the firework manufacturers. ::)

I enjoy a good firework display myself, providing it's properly organised. There's too many spoilports around these days who seem to hate to see anyone enjoying themselves. If they don't happen to like it their answer is to ban it. If you think you're suffering maybe you should go to Lewes on bonfire night sometime. ;) http://www.fletchingbonfiresociety.co.uk/

LOL...I know the pain...Our little neighbor kids that are only 10 and 12 tend to always have a constant suply of bottle rockets...Though they are illegal in Indiana and kids that young shouldnt be messing around with them anyhow (especialy when they are never being supervised by their parents)...They tend to set them off all year round, and never pay attention to the 10 PM noise law in this town >:(  The police refuse to do anything about it and we have learned to just put up with it over the year and half we have lived here...But they found our true feelings about it a few months ago when one of their bottle rockets zinged off my bedroom window at nearly midnight ripping the screen... And yet the police still wont do anything >:(...But they did have to pay for a new screen...

Nice shots BTW ;)
