 Isn't that one of the most beautiful airplanes ever?  Compared to the Nimrod, the Spitfire falls short (though not by THAT much).

Ozzy's just glad that the ORIGINAL Spitfire concept wasn't put into production (open cockpit, fixed year, cranked wings)

Just to be picky...

That isn't a Dragon Rapide. The RAF version (as that seems to be) was called the Dominie. ;D ;)

Woody, it's in the wartime markings of Scottish Airways and not the RAF ;) That makes it a Rapide not a Dominie.

...Although come to mention it I believe it was built as a Dominie for an RAF order, before going to Scottish Airways Ltd in something like '43 or '44. Maybe that makes it a "Dragon Dominie" or "Dominie Rapide"...

I have to say that Type 224 was a bit of a dog ;D
But nothing compares to the beauty of a Merlin engined Spit, gorgeous beyond words and Felix if you disagree then its marmalade time ;D ;D ;D
