Hi all...!

A very rare visitor flew in this afternoon and scattered all the Sparrows in my garden...!
He/She landed on my fence and allowed me to take this photograph.
Even the flash didn't scare it.

Does any one know what type it is, Hawk or Buzzard..?

Many thanks...

Cheers all... ;D...!

Paul.

I have no idea what it is but that's a magnificent creature Paul. ;)

I don't know much about birds of prey. They're all hawks to me but from the size & shape of its beak it could be a common European Kestrel - (Falco tinnunculus). http://www.hawk-conservancy.org/priors/kestrel.shtml

PS. I think it's too small for a buzzard.

I am wondering if it is some sort of an Owl Paul?

I have lots of different birds here, owls, hawks, gulls etc and we have a perfect understanding...they stay off my runway and I stay out of their trees :).

Now if I were you Paul and that was my fence I would walk right up to him/her and demand it's flying permit, then you can obtain the information off that. :)

Hope I have been of help...take it you are not going to offer me dinner tonight....RIGHT! ::)

Cheers...Happy Landings...Doug
