... in their Magnificent flying machines. Some of my favourites from my trip to Old Warden on Sunday.

The delightful little Deperdussin again. Beautifully restored & flies extremely well. So valuable it's restricted to straight hops along the runway. As there was very little wind he was confident enough to fly it in both directions. A rare sight indeed.



1912 Blackburn Monoplane. The oldest airworthy British aeroplane in the world. Amazing to see it doing circuits of the airfield.



Bristol Boxkite replica.


Avro Triplane replica.


These wonderful aeroplanes all starred in the film "Those Magnificent Men in their Flying Machines". The last 2 were built specially for the film. It was a rare privilege to see them all in the air on a perfect day. Brilliant.

DAMN Hagar. You are making me want to move there permanently. AMAZING pictures. I can only imagine what its like to see them in person.

Well done Doug, great shots, with all these fast jets and commercial aircraft, its nice to be reminded of the planes which made todays aircraft possible.

Airplanes had something special about them back then. More character than todays bland aluminum sausages. Too bad designers haven't made more of these aircraft for FS.

Old Warden is a really special place for any aviation enthusiast. I urge anyone in the UK to pay a visit. You won't be disappointed. If the weather holds I might subject myself to another dose of this on Saturday.

Lovely Doug, I can remember seeing the Avro Triplane flying the last time I was at Old Warden. I still find it hard to believe those things can lurch into the wild blue yonder, and that anyone is silly enough to fly those winged deathtraps

More wounderful stuff. I am so tempted to go to that show at Old Warden this weekend but I really should save my money now for my holiday.

You know Hagar I'm with OZZY when I say this, you really should consider putting some on Airliners.

Airliners needs some photos such as the ones you have been shooting!!!!!

Anyone can shoot a passenger jet sitting on a runway but very few can capture history in flight!

Good idea Fret, but I would hardly call any of these canvas and bamboo creations,... " Airliners "  ???

AircraftPhotos.net may be a better location for them ?

It is wonderful to see those aeroplanes and to know they are being well looked after.

That will certainly be a stop on my visit next year!
