A US Customs official looks in awe at the destruction.




And then turn around to look at this....
It is all covered in ash.
This was at 6 World Trade Center. It is one of the many lobbies that connect the World Financial Center.




Here is a shot of a building that sustained damage due to the falling debris from the World Trade center.




Here is 7 World Trade Center with similar damage.




This is the piece that did the damage in the above picture resting ontop of 6 World Trade. Inside this building is where picture #1 was taken.




This Ladder Company was on the scene when tower #2 collapsed. I do not know the outcome of the firemen from this house. I do know that this scene stayed like this for the rest of the time I was at ground zero. One can only imagine...




This picture was taken through a chain link fence. It shows the destuction of the emergency vehicles that were rushing in,....as others were rushing out..




This type of scene was everywhere. Everything was covered in ash and debris. In some places it was over 2 feet deep!




One can only imagine the outcome.....




This is another piece of landing gear. This wheel was found over near West Side Highway. From the area of impact, I assumed it was from the first aircraft...
It was very surreal when I took this.

Very striking Dave.....

............I can say this with a photogs eye, .....I know it sounds a bit morbid, but I wish I was there in those places to record it also, for everyone sees things in a different perspective, and the whole sad situation brings wonder to my brain............    :(    :'(

Thanks Ken. I don't want to dwell on this day much more, (it brings people down), but alot of people here wanted to see some more photos from the previous post so I thought I would share them with everybody. I do know what you mean,

It was very exciting and a great experience for the "documentation and photographer" in some of us, but on the other hand, you could not forget what you were documenting.  :(

BTW, did TIME or CNN put any of those picture into their programs? They certainly look very professional and looks better than some of the picture I have seen in the magzines and on TV.

Hi Stormtrooper,

I do Free-lance Photography for many organizations here on Long Island on "The side". For many years I produced Live Broadcast events here in The New York City Area. I was hired by a private insurance firm to document anything I could from this area since the company I was shooting for insured many of the buildings in this area. I was given full access to many places. Back then as long as you "looked" official, everybody had a pass. How could you be "different" or "above" anybody in such a "surreal" world?

Since photography and I spend so much time together in my personal life, it is "comforting" to see that my images were a testament to that day.
I know a few images were displayed all around. Back then, you really didn't care who had it, as long as the story was told. I look at them now and I can "smell the moment".
Any time I see images of this day,......  this day in time.... you realize how trivial, innocent and how fragile each and every person is.

The tiny, "small" problems, we all seem to have, are minuscule when put up against the tragedy that unfolded that Early morning.

Do you think a mother expecting their 2nd child in 1 month ever thought that the last image of her husband was her yelling at him to finish "painting some room over the weekend". Does it matter now?
I know many people effected by this attack and still am active in preserving the history of this day.

Dave, if you ever get up to Albany, hit the New York State Museum...they have an absolutely stunning 9/11 exhibit which includes what is left of FDNY Engine 6, pieces from the towers and the planes.  Very touching.
