On the approach

Here's a few shots I took the other day. The first 2 are some of the best aerial shots I've taken so far. I was standing right at the end of Runway 21 at Shoreham. This is probably the most difficult angle to get the focus right with an automatic digital camera.


There was a fair crosswind as you can see.

This lot came through without warning. I missed the opportunity of a great series of shots by fumbling. My camera was in the opposite shirt pocket to usual. ::)

This one took me completely by surprise. He was taking off on the grass runway directly towards me into wind. I expected him to pass almost overhead & had him dead centre in the viewfinder. Perfick. Then just as I pressed the button he decided to pull a sharp climbing turn.

Another great opportunity missed. Darn it.
I shall persevere but I'll never make a photographer at this rate.
