Danger - extremely low level
Some years ago I took part in a slope soaring event in North Wales. This is the sort of model we were flying. A scale B-52 R/C glider taken from the top of Moel Famau looking over the valley.

On the way up there a RAF Tornado crept up the road behind us at zero feet & almost blew our hats off.
I'm sure he did it deliberately. During the few days we spent there we were careful to have a lookout posted to warn us of aircraft flying through the valley below our models. Unfortunately I didn't have a decent camera at the time & up till now I'm sure nobody believed me when I mentioned it. I recently found some great shots taken in the same area that show what you can see there on most days of the week. I have permission to post these fantastic shots from my new friend Philip Stevens, a proper photographer. These are the real thing - not models.

Check out Phil's other shots here. http://www.targeta.btinternet.co.uk/
For the technically minded. Canon EOS 10D + Canon EF 100-400mm f4/f5.6 L IS lens with and without a Canon x1.4 extender. With the x1.6 aspect ratio of the digital 10D this gives a maximum focal length of 640mm or 896mm with the extender.
