A few unusual oldies. This is the first time I've ever seen some of these.

Looks similar but this is not a Moth.

Two from the Tipsy stable.

If you like these I have plenty more.

Thanks for your encouragement Craig. These aren't too bad but some are more snapshots than works of art. It's a case of being in the right place at the right time. Like the old fisherman's tale  - you should have seen the ones that got away. ::)

I've learned a valuable lesson from all this. My digital camera takes a while to process the image so I have a bad habit of leaving it until just too late, hoping to get a better angle. Then the opportunity is gone for ever. I've found it's best not to hesitate. Take the shot when your instinct tells you. Then with a bit of luck you'll have time for the better one you really want. This is not so easy as it sounds.

I've also found that at events like this the aircraft pass just a tad too close to get the complete thing in shot. They're likely to turn without warning or do something else to mess it up. It's not usually possible to step back quickly to focus without bumping into someone or people standing next to you getting in the way. I'm learning but I'm not really cut out to be a photographer. LOL ;)

Thanks Mark. #2 is the Civilian Coupe 02 Ken mentioned. A very rare aircraft. Built by the Civilian Aircraft Company Ltd in 1931. That's all I know about it. It won a prize at the event.
