Postby Craig. » Sat May 15, 2004 9:11 am

I had to rush downstairs to get these shots as they were fast going out of zoom range, and in the process i blew out my knee, while it would have been nice to get a closer picture i think its well worth a blown knee ;D
Someone might like them

Nice Craig. Well done for getting your camera in time.
Now for the more important work, - the evaluation. What planes are they?  ???Maybe you all know, - I don't :-[.
Any suggestions?

This looks like the AeroSuperBatics display team. http://www.aerosuperbatics.com/ Probably off to a show somewhere.

It was originally named the "Crunchie" display team then after changing sponsors became the "Utterly Butterly" team until last year. Not sure who sponsors the team now. When I saw them at Shoreham last year they had 4 Stearman aircraft.* The frame on the top is for the "wing-walkers". I don't think anyone is up there in your photos.

They weren't at the event I attended although there were a couple more Stearmans.

*PS. I think I have some photos somewhere. I'll look them out.

You did well to get those shots Craig. ;)

This one was taken at Shoreham in 1997 when it was the Crunchie Display Team. It's not one of mine. I think they only had 2 aircraft in those days.

thank you all for your replys:)
I saw two of them returning, those pics they were going in a south westerly direction, i cant think of any shows in that direction maybe someone knows??
They were in a blue yellow scheme as you can just about make out in the photos, so maybe its still the utterly butterly team??

I think Hagar is right. You see these quite often during the Summer at airshows or just passing over. They always seem to have a girl on the wing even when not at a show.
